Company News
It's birthdays aplenty for Mills staff this month. Happy Birthday to Dave (3rd July), Gary (9th July), Brad (22nd July, and Brian (22nd July). Stay tuned for celebrations for one of the office staff who is looking forward to the BIG 50 alter in the year! Sorry Leanne!
Congratulations to Paddy and Sylvia on their impending marriage in October. Paddy just can't bare to be away from work so in true form, he and Sylvia will enjoy a morning whale watching followed by wedding vows aboard Aussie Warrior.
Brian is back from Canada and brings with him the good news that wife Sue, did extremely well in the Vancouver World Triathlon Championships, and actually came 29th in her age group. Well done Sue, and thanks to Brian for cheering her on!
With winter comes beanies and scarves and very unattractive thermal underwear, but don't let the cold weather put you off fishing. We have already had some great days out and the catch bags are coming back nice and full so book on a charter now. Remember the discounts for members make a weekday trip all the more worthwhile!
Fishing WA recently sent a journo out for one of our night fishing outings, and his rave reviews will be published in the August edition. He was particularly impressed with the boat, Blue Strike, and commented on the competence of the crew. Thanks to Harley for once again, being the perfect host and skipper!
Whale Watching is set to start a little earlier this season, hopefully in September, and you don't want to miss the opportunity to see these beautiful mammals up close. Enquire at the office about dates and prices and make a booking now. Corporate and large groups, as well as individual bookings can be arranged.
Christmas may seem like a long way off, but we have already taken some bookings for Christmas celebrations, so it is never too early to secure your preferred date. Functions can be held aboard the boats all year round, and provide the perfect venue for up to 64 guests. Catering and decorating can be organised for you.
It is always nice to welcome new people to the 'Mills Family' but this month sees us officially introducing Paddy's feathered friend. Paddy has named the seagull Livingston (although depending on the day he also calls him Nelson!) . Livingston frequents the Mills office daily and he and Paddy have developed quite the friendship. Livingston is known to pop up onto the counter and Paddy and him chat about all sorts of things (Paddy does the talking and the gull listens!). After much time, the trust has been built and he is hand fed fresh white bait before departing the office, returning when the hunger pains strike again....and the conversations continue ! We will get some pics of Livingston in action and post them shortly for you to see.
MEMBERS MENTION...
Our heartfelt thanks go to Les Brooker, who is currently in his 20th season with us. Les continues to show Mills his ongoing support and help year in year out.
Congratulations to Phil Jones and partner on the arrival of baby boy, Connor. Hope you are not having too many sleepless nights!
We welcome any members news and fishing gossip, and would love you to share any fishing stories with us in particular. Email us or drop us a line...
KIMBERLEY ADVENTURES...
July sees Aussie Warrior heading up to The Kimberley for our Fishing / Eco-adventure trips. Designed to suit everyone from the hardcore fisher, to the eco-adventurer, the trips offer something for everyone. The two, 10 person tender boats are available to make sure everyone gets to spend their day doing their chosen activity. Trips can be 5-7 days or longer if requested. We are currently taking bookings for the 2009 season, with 2008 nearly booked out already. Call the office to enquire about prices and different trip itineraries.
BEING CLEAN AND GREEN... Stow it, don't throw it ! Keep your trash on board. Never throw cigarette butts, fishing line, or any other garbage into the ocean.
Until next time...keep the feedback flowing so we can continue to provide an informative and up to date website.
The Mills Team.
